Daily Manna from the Net [NIV]
  • Daily Manna from the Net for Friday, November 21, 2008 [Zechariah 8:9-13]
This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'You who now hear these words spoken by the prophets who were there when the foundation was laid for the house of the LORD Almighty, let your hands be strong so that the temple may be built. Before that time there were no wages for man or beast. No one could go about his business safely because of his enemy, for I had turned every man against his neighbor. But now I will not deal with the remnant of this people as I did in the past,' declares the LORD Almighty. 'The seed will grow well, the vine will yield its fruit, the ground will produce its crops, and the heavens will drop their dew. I will give all these things as an inheritance to the remnant of this people. As you have been an object of cursing among the nations, O Judah and Israel, so will I save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid, but let your hands be strong.' Zechariah 8:9-13 NIV Listen (MP3)
About Compass Point Community Church Print

What is Compass Point Community Church all about? Our logo says it all: Loving God, Loving People, Serving the world. That sums up our mission and our methods.

We believe the Bible teaches that Christ-followers can be identified by Passionate Love for God (See Matthew 22:37-38), Purposeful Love for People (Matt. 22:39-40), and Practical Service to the World (Mark 8: 34).

Our method for fulfilling our mission is by engaging people in Loving God, Loving People, and Serving the World (what we call “LLS”) in order to promote Love for God, Love for People, and Service to the world.

LLS is our Mission. LLS is our Method. Loving God, Loving People, Serving the world.

Compass Point is a nondenominational church, comprised of people from many kinds of church and non-church backgrounds. We strive to be a Christ-centered church, being sensitive to spiritual seekers and established God-followers alike.

Our Sunday morning services are designed with the spiritual seeker in mind, rather than the established God-follower. As such, our services feature a casual atmosphere, contemporary music, extensive use of drama, movie clips, and other visual arts to help communicate the message of God's love for us in the same language and style you might hear in the marketplace.

We are highly committed to excellence and relevance, and to not wasting anyone's time with cliché and platitudes. And, because we believe that seekers want to find direction and not be pushed or pulled in any direction, we are committed to presenting God's love, grace, and power in a non-threatening, non-manipulative, low pressure way. Compass Point is a safe place to hear a radical, life-changing message.

The second half of our mission, nurturing people toward maturity as disciples, is mainly addressed in small group ministries, outside the context of the Sunday service.

One visit will tell you that Compass Point is not your traditional church. Frankly, there are many people who have felt burned, bored, or bypassed by traditional churches, and many others who, for various reasons, would never step through the doors of a traditional church. Compass Point exists for those people, so that as they seek direction in this chaotic world, they may catch a glimpse of what God is offering and navigate their way to the calm of His safe harbor.
